Job summary

Staples, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician at our Distribution Center to perform preventative and corrective maintenance on conveyors and related systems.

You will troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components and support facility infrastructure while following safety policies. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor junior technicians, and assist with parts ordering to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to identify and resolve equipment issues.
• Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and automation systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, testing equipment and maintenance-related tools.
• Commitment to workplace safety and preventative maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and emergency maintenance on conveyors, lift equipment, chargers, batteries, and other material handling systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Conduct general facility maintenance including doors, gates, flooring, and light plumbing projects.
• Use schematics and vendor manuals to diagnose and repair equipment issues.
• Perform carpentry and fabrication to support facility operations.
• Order repair parts with supervisor approval to minimize downtime.
• Assist with motor control systems and automated equipment troubleshooting.
• Work safely at heights and adhere to Staples safety policies.
• Share knowledge and mentor junior technicians.
