Job summary

Staples Distribution Center is hiring a Maintenance Technician to perform preventative and corrective maintenance on conveyors, handling equipment, electrical systems, and facility infrastructure. You will troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems while working safely in a high-demand distribution environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of maintenance/industrial experience.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and drawings.
• Experience with preventative maintenance on industrial equipment.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, motor controls, and low-voltage systems.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.
• Work at heights up to 60 feet.
• Willingness to work 12-hour shifts and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and emergency maintenance on conveyors, lift equipment, chargers, batteries, and other material handling systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Conduct general facility maintenance including doors, gates, flooring, and light plumbing.
• Use schematics, blueprints, vendor manuals, and docs to diagnose issues.
• Carry out carpentry and fabrication projects to support operations.
• Order repair parts with supervisor approval to minimize downtime.
• Assist with troubleshooting motor controls and automated equipment.
• Work safely at heights and adhere to Staples safety policies.
• Mentor junior technicians and share knowledge on daily tasks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues quickly.
