Job summary

C.H. Robinson Worldwide is seeking a Senior Warehouse Associate to support inbound and outbound cargo movements through our warehouse in Atlanta. You will offload, sort, and stage goods, operate forklifts, and ensure accurate paperwork and secure packaging to meet service levels.

Your role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and adherence to SOPs while contributing to continuous process improvements and assisting in training new staff. A strong physical stamina and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 months of warehouse operations experience.
  • Must be physically able to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must complete pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and unload goods from vehicles and verify paperwork.
  • Operate forklifts and related equipment for palletization and handling of cargo.
  • Load/unload trailers and ocean containers with care to avoid damage.
  • Prepare outbound loads with proper labeling and paperwork.
  • Document discrepancies, damages, and inventory using SOPs and warehouse systems.
  • Support onboarding and training of new staff in the area.

POSITION SUMMARY

C.H. Robinson is seeking a Senior Warehouse Associate to join our team and contribute to our commitment to excellence and unparalleled customer satisfaction. In this role, you will support vital operations tasks, facilitating the smooth movement of inbound and outbound cargo from trailers or ocean containers through our warehouse. Your previous warehouse experience, attention to detail, and safety focus will be crucial in ensuring the timely delivery of goods to our customers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Receive goods from customers and suppliers by offloading and loading vehicles, checking paperwork, weighing, measuring, and reporting discrepancies or damages.
  • Operate stand-up, sit-down forklifts, and hand jacks for palletization, stretch wrapping, and banding of cargo.
  • Load and unload trailers/ocean containers in a professional and damage-free manner.
  • Prepare outbound loads by matching paperwork, labeling, and handling Unit Load Device (ULD) preparation.
  • Sign off Bills of Lading accurately, verifying counts and damages.
  • Maintain the flow of materials and products in warehouses with varying degrees.
  • Stage cargo within the warehouse safely and orderly while maintaining standards of cleanliness and organization.
  • Ensure proper warehouse organization through the use of warehouse booking-in sheets or Warehouse Management System (site specific).
  • Handle logistics accounts, picking, packing, inventory reporting/stock checks as needed to achieve quality standards outlined in standard operating procedures (SOP) or customer requirements, including reworking, or recouping of freight.
  • Recommend process improvements, resulting in problem resolution and efficiency gains.
  • Contribute to the development of new SOPs related to new business, product, or process changes.
  • Support the onboarding and training of new staff assigned to an area/department.
  • Site Specific: Regular duties include cross-functional areas such as receiving, loading, picking, shipping, etc.
  • Site Specific: Completion of weekly bond checks.
  • Site Specific: Execute Dock-to-Stock procedures and regulations at all times, maintaining building perimeter security and challenging anything or anyone untoward.
  • Site Specific: Handle bonded import freight into the External Temporary Storage (ERTS) facility in accordance with regulations and breakdown of inbound ULD’s as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Minimum 6 months of previous C.H. Robinson warehouse operations experience.
  • Possess good physical stamina and coordination.
  • Could be required to stand and/or walk for long periods daily while frequently bending, twisting, reaching, and periodically lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Applicants in a warehouse role must complete a pre-employment drug screen as part of a conditional job offer.
  • Site Specific: Ability to work flexible hours and/or days.
  • Site Specific: Exceed location established performance standards, i.e. established KPI’s.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Previous external warehouse / freight forwarder experience.
  • Familiarity with Bills of Lading, Shipping Manifests, Delivery Orders, etc.
  • Site Specific: Ability to speak Spanish.

COMPENSATION RANGE

Compensation Range $17.13 - $25.36 The base pay range displayed on the job posting reflects the minimum and maximum base pay for this specific location. Your individual base pay within this range is determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base pay only and do not include additional variable compensation.
