Job summary

C.H. Robinson Worldwide is seeking a Lead Warehouse Associate in Indianapolis to train and mentor the warehouse team, oversee loading/unloading, and drive safety and efficiency across the operation.

You will lead by example, enforce SOPs, and resolve issues to maintain smooth material flow within the facility. The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, strong communication, and familiarity with WMS, Bills of Lading, and dock-to-stock procedures, with a Monday–Friday shift from 6:00am to 2:30pm.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Minimum 2 years of warehouse operations experience.
  • Possess good physical stamina and coordination.
  • Stand and/or walk for long periods daily while frequently bending, twisting, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Certified forklift operator.
  • Must complete a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and days.
  • Familiarity with Bills of Lading, Shipping Manifests, Delivery Orders, etc.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to speak Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Support warehouse supervisory team in adhering to SOPs and ensure implementation.
  • Train and troubleshoot WMS usage to maintain efficient organization.
  • Receive goods from customers and suppliers, check paperwork and damages.
  • Operate stand-up/sit-down forklifts and hand jacks for palletization and banding.
  • Load and unload trailers/ocean containers professionally and without damage.
  • Prepare outbound loads with proper paperwork, labeling, and ULD handling.
  • Sign off Bills of Lading, verify counts and damages.
  • Stage cargo safely and orderly within the warehouse.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization per SOPs and customer requirements.
  • Contribute to development of new SOPs for new business or changes.
  • Regular duties include cross-functional receiving, loading, picking, shipping; weekly bond checks.
  • Execute Dock-to-Stock procedures and maintain security.
  • Handle bonded import freight at ERTS per regulations.

POSITION SUMMARY

C.H. Robinson is seeking a Lead Warehouse Associate to play a pivotal role in training, coaching, and overseeing our warehouse team. In this position, you'll ensure the safe and efficient loading and unloading of freight from trailers or ocean containers, maintaining the flow of materials within the warehouse. You will elevate our operations by implementing process enhancements, resolving issues, and achieving efficiency improvements. We’re seeking an individual who is dependable, detail-oriented, and safety-minded, capable of thriving in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Monday – Friday – 6:00am–2:30pm

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support warehouse supervisory team in adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure their implementation
  • Assist warehouse team in utilizing Warehouse Management System (WMS), including training and troubleshooting, to maintain efficient warehouse organization
  • Receive goods from customers and suppliers by offloading and loading vehicles, checking paperwork, weighing, measuring, and reporting discrepancies or damages
  • Operate stand‑up, sit‑down forklifts, and hand jacks for palletization, stretch wrapping, and banding of cargo
  • Load and unload trailers/ocean containers in a professional and damage‑free manner
  • Prepare outbound loads by matching paperwork, labeling, and handling Unit Load Device (ULD) preparation
  • Sign off Bills of Lading accurately, verifying counts and damages
  • Stage cargo within the warehouse safely and orderly
  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness and organization standards through general housekeeping
  • Ensure quality standards are met according to standard operating procedures (SOP) or customer requirements, including reworking or recouping freight
  • Contribute to the development of new SOPs related to new business, products, or process changes
  • Site Specific: Regular duties include cross‑functional areas such as receiving, loading, picking, shipping, etc.
  • Site Specific: Completion of weekly bond checks
  • Site Specific: Execute Dock‑to‑Stock procedures and regulations at all times, maintaining building perimeter security and challenging anything or anyone untoward
  • Site Specific: Handle bonded import freight into the External Temporary Storage (ERTS) facility in accordance with regulations and breakdown of inbound ULD’s as required
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Minimum 2 years of previous warehouse operations experience
  • Possess good physical stamina and coordination
  • Could be required to stand and/or walk for long periods daily while frequently bending, twisting, reaching, and periodically lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Certified forklift operator
  • Applicants in a warehouse role must complete a pre‑employment drug screen as part of a conditional job offer
  • Site Specific: Ability to work flexible hours and days
  • Preferred: High School Diploma or GED
  • Familiarity with Bills of Lading, Shipping Manifests, Delivery Orders, etc.

Compensation

Compensation Range $17.22 - $27.28The base pay range displayed on the job posting reflects the minimum and maximum base pay for this specific location. Your individual base pay within this range is determined by job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base pay only and do not include additional variable compensation.
