Job summary

SMS Data Products Group in Sumter, SC seeks a Sr WAN Engineer to design, engineer and sustain enterprise WAN architectures supporting mission critical network operations across CONUS and OCONUS environments. The role focuses on monitoring, troubleshooting, and improving performance of the National IP/MPLS backbone and related networks.

You will implement BGP, OSPF and MPLS, analyze network metrics, and resolve QoS challenges, while producing reports, briefing stakeholders, and providing training

Qualifications

• BS in a related field or 7+ years IT/networking experience.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise WAN architectures (BGP/OSPF, MPLS).
• Experience in monitoring, troubleshooting and reporting on network performance.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer enterprise WAN architecture.
• Configure, monitor and troubleshoot National IP/MPLS backbone networks.
• Implement BGP, OSPF, MPLS in internal and service provider environments.
• Analyze network metrics and improve performance.
• Resolve QoS challenges involving policing, shaping and queuing.
• Develop reports and trend analyses on bandwidth and security incidents.
• Provide O&M support and stakeholder briefings.
