Job summary

Cypress Consulting in Fairfax County, Virginia, seeks a WAN Lead Network Engineer to act as the senior technical authority for the design and implementation of a global, mission-critical WAN. You will own WAN architecture decisions, drive implementation through acceptance, and lead a seven-person network engineering team while partnering with program engineering, test, and quality teams.

Qualifications

Ten+ years of progressive network engineering experience.
Experience leading WAN architecture from design through acceptance.
Strong customer-facing communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

Own end-to-end WAN architecture, baseline, and design standards from development to acceptance.
Design and lead resilient wide area connectivity for distributed sites and facilities.
Lead a seven-network-engineer team across time zones.
Serve as primary technical interface for customers and engineering leadership.
Review and approve designs, configurations, and implementation plans.
Provide guidance on BGP, OSPF, MPLS, SD-WAN, IPsec, GRE, QoS and HA.
Drive planning, integration, troubleshooting, risk management and delivery.
Coordinate across time zones and support critical implementation windows.
