Job summary

EY is seeking a WAF Operations Solution Engineer to configure and maintain Web Application Firewalls, protecting client applications and data. You’ll monitor traffic, analyze security events, and respond to incidents while collaborating with cross-functional security teams to improve the overall security posture.

In this role, you’ll leverage Cloudflare, Imperva, and Terraform to automate security controls, develop WAF policies, and support audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in web application security operations with a focus on WAF management.
• Hands-on experience with Cloudflare and Imperva is required.
• Proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure automation.
• Strong knowledge of web app protocols and security best practices.
• Familiarity with ITIL and ticketing systems for incident management.
• Certs such as CISSP or Security+ are a plus.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Configure, manage, and optimize WAF solutions to protect web applications.
• Provide ongoing operational coverage of web application firewalls.
• Monitor traffic and security events to identify threats and vulnerabilities.
• Analyze security incidents with root-cause analysis and remediation.
• Collaborate with incident response teams to respond to security incidents.
• Develop and maintain WAF policies, rules, and documentation.
• Support security audits and assessments in line with policies.
• Stay current with threats and technologies to enhance security posture.
• Utilize WAF solutions including Cloudflare and Imperva and Terraform for IaC.
• Mentor junior engineers on WAF management and incident response.
