Job summary

Moody's is seeking an experienced VP, Risk Management to serve as the dedicated second-line risk officer for Ratings Operations. You will provide independent oversight and credible challenge across the operational risk management framework, partnering with Compliance, People, ERM, and Internal Audit to ensure independence and objective risk assessment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in operational risk, enterprise risk, internal audit, compliance, or related control functions in a global, regulated environment.
• Independent second line review and credible challenge across risk domains and governance reporting.
• Experience asserting risk perspectives and challenging risk documentation and remediation actions.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent review and credible challenge to Ratings Operations risk profile and the risk management framework.
• Engage governance committees representing second line risk and report changes to risk profile.
• Oversee risk appetite initiatives ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory expectations.
• Challenge first line RC-SAs for timely completion, risk identification, and escalation.
• Review and challenge issue identification, root cause, remediation, and post-event analysis.
• Develop and challenge Key Risk Indicators with justified tolerances and explanations when out of tolerance.
• Monitor evolving risks including AI, automation, data management, and digital initiatives; advise on governance escalation.
• Support risk oversight of strategic transformation initiatives from design to post-implementation.
