Commonwealth Foundation seeks a Vice President of Public Affairs to provide senior leadership for the Public Affairs team, translating organizational priorities into strategic communications, messaging, and issue campaigns. This role reports to the Chief Public Affairs Officer and drives execution from strategy through evaluation.

Qualifications

• Eight+ years in public affairs, communications, or related fields.
• Experience managing and developing staff with accountability for results.
• Proven ability to develop and execute integrated public affairs campaigns.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with strong messaging.
• Sound judgment under pressure and ability to adapt to fast-paced environments.
• Ability to translate strategy into clear plans, responsibilities, and deadlines.
• Knowledge of brand, marketing, and digital communications for oversight of specialists.
• Experience managing significant budgets and multiple priorities.
• Willingness to travel; Pennsylvania familiarity preferred.

Responsabilités

• Lead, manage, and develop a high-performing Public Affairs team across communications, media relations, digital marketing, advocacy, and editorial content.
• Translate organizational priorities into strategic direction, plans, and measurable outcomes.
• Oversee budgets, consultants, agencies, and outside partners with accountability.
• Establish planning, coordination, approvals, and accountability systems within the team and with other departments.
• Provide regular reporting to the Chief Public Affairs Officer and stakeholders on priorities, progress, risks, and resources.
• Lead integrated public advocacy campaigns with cross-team collaboration and strategy alignment.
• Direct owned and paid media efforts to support Public Affairs objectives and brand voice.
• Represent the Foundation in media appearances, public forums, and external engagements.
