Job summary

StepStone Group, a global private markets specialist, seeks a VP/Director for the Private Debt team in New York. You will review investment opportunities, conduct due diligence on co-investments, and articulate findings for investment committee decisions.

Qualifications

BA/BS in Business, Finance, Economics or Accounting or equivalent experience.
2-4 years investment banking experience plus 4+ years with Private Debt GPs.
Proven ability to represent firm in written and interpersonal communications.
Strong analytical capabilities including quantitative/modeling skills.
Leadership experience; willingness to perform multiple functions as the firm grows.

Responsibilities

Write Investment Memorandums in line with StepStone standards.
Monitor the performance of the portfolio and underlying companies.
Source and analyze data to test hypotheses on investment opportunities.
Drive sourcing and manage co-investment opportunities with Partners guidance.
Lead due diligence on opportunities that pass initial review.
Construct a defendable investment argument and present to the Investment Committee.
Perform market research using public and proprietary data to analyze macro trends.
