Job summary
Citi in Jersey City, NJ seeks a Lead Engineer to steer the design, delivery and evolution of OTC Clearing platforms across multiple CCPs. You will drive strategic tech initiatives, onboarding of new products, regulatory changes, and platform modernization to scale operations and improve delivery efficiency.

Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering and application development.
- Experience leading complex engineering initiatives in large-scale, distributed environments.
- Proven track record delivering strategic technology projects from design through implementation.
- Experience leading technical teams or major project workstreams involving multiple stakeholders and delivery groups.
- Experience with distributed systems, messaging, event-driven architectures, APIs, and large-scale data processing.
- Strong knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and modern software practices.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and emerging productivity technologies.
- Experience within OTC derivatives, clearing, post-trade processing or related capital markets preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership across the OTC Clearing technology estate, ensuring scalable, secure solutions.
- Lead design and implementation of complex technology solutions for new products, CCP onboarding, growth initiatives, and regulatory requirements.
- Drive architecture, integration patterns, data models, and application design decisions.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and architects to align with firmwide standards and strategic direction.
- Perform technical reviews and provide guidance on architecture, design quality, performance, and maintainability.
- Lead major delivery initiatives and technology workstreams from inception through production deployment.
- Coordinate across development, QA, production support, infrastructure, operations, and business stakeholders.
- Manage competing priorities balancing investment, debt reduction, platform stability, and regulatory commitments.
- Identify risks and drive mitigation strategies; provide regular progress updates to senior management.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to hiring and talent development.
