Job summary
AmeriHome Mortgage, a Western Alliance Bank company, seeks a seasoned FVP of Non-Agency Underwriting Operations in Dallas/Irving. Lead the residential underwriting team, set strategies, and ensure adherence to Credit Manuals and investor guidelines while driving efficiency and quality in all loan decisions.
The role requires 8+ years in underwriting leadership, deep mortgage product knowledge, and strong regulatory acumen.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of related experience in Residential Mortgage Loan Underwriting or similar field.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of residential mortgage industry in Correspondent or Retail Lending.
- Deep understanding of FHA/VA/conventional loans and underwriting guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the residential mortgage underwriting team, including managers, underwriters, and support staff.
- Develop and execute underwriting strategies aligned with corporate goals and risk appetite.
- Calibrate and train fulfilment and third-party due diligence teams to AmeriHome guidelines.
- Oversee daily underwriting operations to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant loan decisions.
- Collaborate with IT to evaluate underwriting technology solutions including automation.
