Job summary

Mesirow Institutional Real Estate is seeking an Asset Manager to join our growing team in Chicago. The ideal candidate has a strong operating background in multifamily operations and asset management, overseeing property performance and capital improvement strategies.

Qualifications

Minimum of 10 years of experience in property management, real estate asset management, with a focus on multifamily properties.
Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Proven track record of driving financial performance and operational excellence in multifamily real estate portfolios.

Responsibilities

Implement comprehensive asset management plans to optimize the financial performance of selected individual assets.
Collaborate with third-party property management teams to ensure efficient day-to-day operations, including implementation of capital plans, driving top line growth, and stringently managing expenses.
Conduct regular property inspections and assessments to identify maintenance needs, capital improvement opportunities, and risk mitigation strategies.
Monitor financial performance against budgetary goals and proactively address variances.
Will work on approximately 8-10 assets in 4 to 5 specific markets throughout the U.S.
