Job summary

Omninet Capital, LLC seeks a senior litigation attorney to lead our litigation and claims function as Vice President, Litigation & Claims across our multifamily and commercial portfolio. This hands‑on role will own strategy, claims handling, insurance coordination, and matter oversight while directing outside counsel as needed.

The successful candidate will report to the CEO, build the function from the ground up, and actively manage day‑to‑day work, evictions, and risk insights to operations.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar (admission in all operating states not required).
• 12–15+ years of litigation experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to operate independently as a hands‑on practitioner without internal staff.
• Experience selecting, managing, and controlling outside counsel and legal spend.
• Experience handling insurance claims with carriers and TPAs.
• Strong judgment, negotiation skills, and ability to manage a high‑volume, multi‑jurisdiction portfolio independently.

Responsibilities

• Manage all claims and litigation across nine states for company properties.
• Set litigation strategy, assess exposure, and make settlement recommendations.
• Manage pre‑litigation demands and resolve matters efficiently.
• Maintain a centralized portfolio view with status, reserves, and deadlines.
• Select, retain, and direct outside counsel; manage budgets and invoices.
• Coordinate with insurance carriers and third‑party administrators on claims.
• Oversee eviction proceedings and ensure compliance with landlord‑tenant laws.
• Provide regular reporting to leadership and advise on legal risk and contractual matters.
