Job summary

The Village Bank, Newton, MA, seeks a Senior Vice President, Chief Lending Officer to lead its lending function, drive growth, portfolio performance and client relationships.

Reporting to the President & CEO, the role requires deep lending experience, strong credit judgment, and a collaborative leadership style. A hybrid work arrangement with three onsite days is available after onboarding.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree as stated.
• Minimum of 20 years of progressively responsible credit, lending, and management experience.
• Proven leadership across the lending function, including coaching and developing managers and teams.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory guidelines relevant to lending.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Bank’s lending functions, including business development, portfolio management, and loan servicing.
• Develop and carry out lending strategies with growth targets while balancing risk.
• Partner with the Chief Credit Officer to align practices with risk tolerance and goals.
• Lead lending teams in generating business and expanding market presence.
• Review loan applications and make recommendations for approvals as needed.
• Represent the Bank in community and industry involvement.
