Job summary

The Children’s Place seeks a VP, Intellectual Property, Marketing & Product Counsel to oversee IP and product-related compliance for the brand and its campaigns.

You will partner with Marketing, Merchandising, Product Development, Design, E‑Commerce, and Digital teams to provide business-oriented legal guidance across the product lifecycle and manage litigation with outside counsel as needed.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree from an accredited law school and in good standing in NY and/or NJ.
• 10+ years of experience in a law firm or in-house legal role.
• Experience in retail organization is preferred.
• Experience in handling litigation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee intellectual property portfolio and brand strategy; evaluate new trademark filings.
• Review and approve product designs and licensing agreements.
• Advise on marketing, promotions, sweepstakes, loyalty programs and campaigns.
• Oversee product safety and regulatory compliance in US/Canada.
• Manage litigation strategy with external counsel and internal stakeholders.
