Job summary

The Missouri Botanical Garden seeks a strategic, results‑driven Senior Vice President of Institutional Advancement to lead major gifts, annual and capital campaigns, and donor engagement across local and global programs.

Reporting to the President & Director, the SVP IA will manage a 35‑person team, a $4.8M budget, and a multi‑million‑dollar donor pipeline, driving philanthropy, stewardship, membership, and external relations.

Qualifications

• Executive‑level advancement leadership experience.
• Proven success securing and stewarding transformational gifts.
• Strong financial, analytical, and strategic planning capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead local and global advancement strategy including annual, capital, endowment, and planned giving.
• Oversee major gifts, campaigns, corporate/foundation relations, and stewardship.
• Expand donor pipeline using data‑driven approaches and strong prospect research.
• Coordinate donor communications with the Communications & Marketing Division to ensure consistent messaging.
