Job summary

Kimmel & Associates is seeking two newly created Vice President of Operations roles for a leading heavy civil contractor in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. One role targets public-sector work, the other private-sector, reporting to the VP of Operations.

These positions require hands-on leadership across a broad portfolio and strong P&L accountability. Ideal candidates will have 15+ years in heavy civil with multi-project oversight, strategic ops mindset, and a proven track record of profitability

Qualifications

• 15+ years in heavy civil construction with operational leadership responsibilities.
• Proven ability to manage a portfolio of concurrent projects and deliver profitability.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee heavy civil operations across multiple projects.
• Develop Project Managers, Superintendents, and field leadership.
• Own P&L, budgeting, forecasting, and margin optimization.
• Establish KPIs and ensure safety, schedule, and budget adherence.
• Collaborate with estimating, preconstruction, and leadership on strategy.
• Travel to project sites as required.
