Talent Edge Recruiting is seeking a Senior Vice President of Operations for a design/build luxury homebuilder. The role partners with the President to translate strategic goals into daily execution, driving process discipline, accountability, and cross-department collaboration across Estimating, Purchasing, Finance, and Legal.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in custom or luxury residential construction, strong change-management skills, and a track record of turning strategy into hands-on

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in homebuilding, construction, or related field.
• Experience in custom or luxury residential construction strongly preferred.
• Deep experience in purchasing, estimating, or operations within construction.
• Ability to build, refine, and roll out operational processes.
• Real change-management chops—getting teams to adopt new ways of working.
• Experience setting KPIs and building accountability across multiple departments.
• Strong budgeting and financial understanding; P&L ownership.

Responsibilities

• Act as the President's operational counterpart, converting goals into concrete plans.
• Push efficiency and process improvements across the full homebuilding cycle.
• Own oversight of Estimating, Purchasing, Finance, and Legal.
• Tighten handoffs between Sales, Design, Estimating, Purchasing, and Construction.
• Set KPIs and accountability standards with quarterly check-ins.
• Drive change-management and ensure new processes stick org-wide.
• Build operating playbooks for custom and luxury product lines.
• Manage vendor strategy including onboarding, pricing, VE, and cost reductions.
• Collaborate with Finance on budgeting and project financing.
• Streamline the closing process for clients and internal teams.
• Vet and roll out systems/tech to support efficiency and growth.
• Contribute to annual/quarterly planning, staffing strategy, and board prep.
