Job summary

Citi in Jersey City seeks an Applications Development Group Manager to lead multiple teams in delivering critical backend and full-stack applications. You will shape software strategy, oversee budgets, and drive architecture decisions to meet business goals.

The role requires 10+ years in Java back-end development, cloud and microservices expertise, and a proven track record in leading high-performance technology teams. This is a full-time on-site position based in Jersey City, NJ.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant experience in Java Back End development.
• Experience with managing the software development of complex and critical platforms.
• Proficient with full stack technology capabilities (Java, Spring Frameworks, Javascript and associated frameworks).
• Expertise with cloud computing technologies (AWS, Kubernetes, etc.) and micro-services architectures.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple teams of professionals to accomplish established goals and conduct personnel duties.
• Provide strategic influence and control over resources, budget management and planning.
• Resolve issues using in-depth knowledge of applications development and related areas.
• Define standards and ensure essential procedures are followed.
• Integrate knowledge of applications development with technology strategy to meet objectives.
• Provide evaluative judgement in complex, dynamic situations with data from multiple sources.
• Influence and negotiate with senior leaders and external parties as needed.
• Assess risk in business decisions and ensure compliance with laws and Citigroup policies.
