Job summary

ComTech Systems in Gaithersburg, MD is seeking a Senior Voice & Systems Engineer to join our in-house team. The role focuses on troubleshooting escalated voice, IT, and networking issues while supporting Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server, and VoIP platforms with excellent customer service.

You will perform upgrades, migrations, deployments, and project work, provide onsite support at local client sites, and guide Tier 1 technicians.

Qualifications

• 3+ years IT support experience in SMBs/MSP environments.
• Strong troubleshooting across Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server, Active Directory, networking, firewalls, VoIP systems, cybersecurity, backup, and cloud technologies.
• Experience supporting switches, wireless networks, VPNs, virtualization platforms, and endpoint security solutions.
• Ability to resolve escalated technical issues and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve escalated desktop, server, network, cloud, and VoIP issues.
• Support Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server, Active Directory, networking, security, and backup solutions.
• Perform upgrades, migrations, deployments, and project work.
• Diagnose root causes and implement long-term solutions.
• Assist with technical planning, recommendations, and client projects.
• Provide guidance to Tier 1 technicians.
• Perform onsite support, installations, and project work as needed.
• Maintain accurate ticket notes, time entries, and documentation.
• Participate in after-hours maintenance and on-call support as needed.
• Log detailed activities, track calls/requests utilizing ticketing software.
