Job summary

AbelCine in New York City seeks a Senior Visual Designer to join as a full-time employed consultant supporting a key client. You will combine broadcast design, information design, branding, and visual storytelling to create scalable design systems and transform data into on-screen graphics.

The role requires expertise in After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and strong collaboration with producers and content teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in a related design field.
• 7–10 years of professional design experience with broadcast and studio focus.
• Strong portfolio of broadcast graphics, visual storytelling, and motion graphics.
• Experience creating graphics and design systems for broadcast or live production.
• Ability to translate complex information into engaging on-screen visuals.
• Experience developing and maintaining design systems or templates.
• Strong brand sensibility and consistency across contributors.
• Advanced typography, layout, color, information architecture.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
• Knowledge of Unreal Engine is valued.
• Experience translating technical/financial concepts into visuals.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Strong organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in financial/services, consulting, technology, or corporate comms preferred.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the visual identity across shows and formats.
• Ensure graphics follow brand standards and consistency.
• Maintain design files and reusable assets.
• Develop design systems, templates, and motion standards.
• Translate data and executive messages into broadcast graphics.
• Reimagine PowerPoint content for on-screen use.
• Create original visual concepts and storytelling frameworks.
• Design on-screen graphics, infographics, data visualizations, diagrams.
• Collaborate with producers and teams to choose the right visual approach.
• Create motion graphics for broadcasts, conferences, and digital platforms.
• Provide creative direction and quality control for studio work.
• Identify opportunities to improve workflows and scalability.
• Stay current on trends in broadcast design and data viz.
• Manage multiple projects with high attention to detail.
