This is an exciting opportunity to join our innovative Marketing team; but first, here is a little bit about Elements Financial:

WE MAKE MONDAYS MORE ENJOYABLE.

Today we serve the employees of 150+ organizations around the U.S. We currently rank among the top 3% of credit unions nationally with 100,000+ members. We have the resources, staff, and expertise to support our members with unparalleled service and leading-edge technology.

Now let's get into this exciting role!

This is a hybrid role that requires some on-site work (inside our Indianapolis, Indiana office). In addition to the on-site duties, there are additional responsibilities that can be completed outside of the office, resulting in this being a hybrid role.

Elements Financial is a Best Place to Work because our employees are empowered to Be the Expert, Live the Purpose, and Grow the Business. Our Purpose is to Empower Members to Achieve Financial Success. The Senior Visual Designer is responsible for shaping and executing campaign-level creative direction for Elements Financial. This role bridges marketing strategy and design execution by translating campaign goals, brand strategy, and member insights into cohesive visual systems and creative concepts across channels.

The Senior Visual Designer plays a critical part in elevating creative thinking, operationalizing the Elements brand system across marketing campaigns, and ensuring creative work is visually compelling, consistent, and effective. They bring deeper experience, stronger creative judgment, and greater ownership than execution-focused design roles.

This position focuses on campaign-level creative direction and visual systems. Execution-heavy brand operations, internal communications design, and day-to-day production remain within established brand and communications roles.

You will learn how to be the expert to best serve our members:
  • Creative Direction & Campaign Design
    • Partner with Growth, Analytics, and Communications teams to shape visual direction for marketing campaigns.
    • Translate campaign strategy, audience insights, and business objectives into strong creative concepts and systems.
    • Develop campaign-level visual frameworks that scale across channels, including email, digital, print, social, and in-branch.
    • Lead visual direction for member-facing campaigns across acquisition, onboarding, product adoption, and engagement initiatives.
    • Ensure creative work supports clarity, trust, and conversion across the member journey, including email-driven acquisition, onboarding, and engagement programs.
  • Brand System Stewardship
    • Operationalize the Elements brand identity and future brand system developed through external brand partners.
    • Serve as a key internal expert on visual identity, creative standards, and usage guidelines.
    • Design and evolve campaign-level visual systems and frameworks aligned to the Elements brand.
    • Enable consistent execution by internal teams and external partners through clear creative direction.
    • Ensure all creative work aligns with brand standards, accessibility guidelines, and compliance requirements.
You will help grow the business:
  • Champion a member-centered approach to designs that build trust, clarity, and connection.
  • Act as a brand steward by ensuring campaign creative reflects Elements’ values and positioning.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, inclusive, and respectful team culture.
  • Approach feedback and collaboration with professionalism and shared accountability.
You will continue to grow professionally:
  • Act as a creative thought partner to the Brand Strategist, elevating execution through strong visual direction.
  • Partner upstream with Marketing Analytics and Growth to shape creative approaches informed by insights, objectives, and performance learnings.
  • Collaborate with Salesforce Marketing Cloud partners to design creative that aligns platform capabilities, dynamic content, and testing approaches — without owning platform configuration or deployment.
  • Collaborate closely with copywriters, marketers, compliance partners, and agencies.
  • Provide creative guidance, critique, and concept feedback that elevates campaign quality and consistency.
  • Present creative concepts clearly and confidently to internal stakeholders and leadership.
Execution & Craft
  • Design high-quality creative assets across digital, print, email, and campaign materials.
  • Design and evolve campaign-level email and creative templates in Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud that support lifecycle use cases, personalization, and A/B testing, and are designed to scale within Marketing Cloud capabilities.
  • Balance creative ambition with timelines, resources, and business priorities to deliver effective work.
You will make a difference as you live out our purpose:
  • Stay current on design trends, tools, and best practices, applying them thoughtfully within brand and regulatory constraints.
  • Seek out opportunities to expand creative leadership, strategic thinking, and technical skills.
  • Share design best practices and inspiration with the broader marketing and creative team.
  • Embrace feedback as a tool for growth and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 6–10+ years of professional design experience in brand, marketing, or campaign environments.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating campaign-level creative thinking and brand system work.
  • Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud and Figma.
  • Experience designing email creative for lifecycle or campaign programs, including A/B testing and performance-informed iteration.
  • Familiarity with email marketing platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud and their creative constraints and opportunities (no platform ownership required).
  • Proven ability to translate strategy into visual concepts, not just individual assets.
  • Experience working within established brand systems and regulated industries.
  • Strong understanding of typography, layout, color, and visual hierarchy.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
  • Experience in financial services, credit unions, or regulated industries preferred.
  • Working knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG).
  • Motion graphics or basic video editing experience a plus.
