Job summary

Acara Solutions seeks a Lead Geospatial Engineer to guide real-time geospatial database development for simulation and training programs. You will mentor a talented team, design GIS and 3D visualization solutions, and ensure delivery on time and within budget.

Responsibilities include leading design, development, and implementation of geospatial solutions across Windows and Linux, and collaborating with customers to meet project goals while maintaining high quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in GIS/Earth Science or related Engineering field.
  • 5+ years in Image Science, Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing/Data Fusion, Geo Imaging/Processing, Spectral/Imagery Analysis.
  • 5+ years creating moving and static 3D models in software such as 3D Studio Max, Maya, or Creator.
  • 3+ years of executing projects through the full development lifecycle, from requirements through customer acceptance.
  • 3+ years of defining and executing business processes.
  • 3+ years of Cost Account Management (CAM) and Earned Value Management.
  • 3+ years of Project Scheduling.
  • 3+ years of authoring white papers and technical presentations (a benefit)

As a Lead Geospatial Engineer, you will lead the development of real‑time geospatial database content that supports advanced simulation and training programs.   • 8+ years' experience in the acquisition and manipulation of a wide variety of common aerial and satellite imagery, elevation data, and vector data
  • 8+ years' experience in Photoshop, primarily in image clean up, and color correction
  • 8+ years' experience in ArcGIS
  • 5+ years' experience in database creation for multiple image generation systems, such as Aechelon, MetaVR, Vital, or Quantum3D
  • 5+ years' leading team development efforts
  • Workflow Management tools (i.e. ClearCase, ClearQuest, Perforce, Atlassian, RTC)
  • Modeling Tools (i.e. Terra Vista, Creator, Maya, 3D Studio Max)
