Job summary

Amazon Twitch is seeking a Senior Applied Scientist to lead computer vision and video manipulation work within the APM Video Science team. You will apply LLMs, VLMs, and traditional CV techniques to build products that improve content creation and viewer engagement on Twitch.

You will collaborate with senior Product and Twitch leadership to translate customer needs into scientific problems, evaluate AI capabilities across Bedrock and external platforms, and contribute to the team’s scientific

Qualifications

• 3+ years of building ML models for business applications
• Experience with neural deep learning methods and ML
• PhD or Master’s with 6+ years of applied research experience
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related languages

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy computer vision and video manipulation models from research to production
• Partner with Product and Twitch leadership to translate customer needs into scientific problems
• Evaluate and integrate generative AI capabilities across Amazon Bedrock and third-party platforms
• Drive the team’s scientific agenda through technical docs and external publications
• Mentor scientists and engineers through code reviews, design guidance, and assessments
