Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a senior engineer to lead vision-based navigation development for lunar missions. You will direct computer vision algorithms, validate models, and guide hardware-in-the-loop testing across multiple spaceflight programs.

You will mentor engineers, shape the technical direction, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure mission success. A strong background in optics, CV, and embedded systems is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Aerospace, Robotics, or related Engineering field with 7+ years of computer vision development experience.
• Recognized expert in Robotics and Computer Vision with leadership in complex systems.
• Deep experience with optics, camera hardware and calibration; synthetic scene generation and radiometry.

Responsibilities

• Technical leadership for Computer Vision across multiple programs.
• Define and enforce unit testing, integration testing, and V&V for CV software modules.
• Oversee integration of CV software into vehicle production baselines.
• Identify gaps and drive automation, tooling, and scalable processes.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers; lead cross-program technical exchanges.
• Represent the team in technical reviews and design forums.
• Influence make/buy and technology roadmap decisions for CV.
