Job description

This role is the keeper of the beauty. You make Callan look like the high-level leader and AI educator she is, through documentary-grade capture and editing that makes people want to know her. This is not a run-and-gun content grinder seat. You set the visual bar for the entire brand and hand the rest of the team premium material to run with.

Full-Time | Minnesota Preferred (Can Fly In for Capture Days) | Reports to Director of Marketing

Minnesota Preferred (Can Fly In for Capture Days)

The Uncommon Business is the world's fastest-growing AI-first education company, teaching business leaders to architect intelligent systems, not just prompt tools. We don't do busywork, legacy thinking, or 80-hour founder weeks. We build companies where AI handles the repeatable, humans drive the irreplaceable, and leaders scale without burning out. We're profitable, EOS-driven, and operate in championship-level surge cycles. You'll be promoted on impact and ownership, not tenure. High performers thrive here. Passengers don't last.

You might have:

  • Ran a full in-office capture day, directed a second camera, and walked away with a month of premium footage.
  • Followed Callan through a day in her life and caught the small, contagious moments that make people trust her.
  • Cut a long-form YouTube piece plus the short-form and stories pulled from it, all handed off ready to post.
  • Turned a set of screenshots and stills into a scroll-stopping carousel.
  • Led capture at a live event with a second camera, owning the visual record start to finish.

We value ownership over task lists. Here's where you'll lead:

  • Documentary-Style Capture. You follow Callan, direct a second camera, and probe her for the best material, documenting her life, her AI, her process, and how she thinks. This is the depth-and-trust layer of the brand, and it's yours.
  • Monthly Capture Days. You run two content capture days per month, one in-office and one following Callan around on a day in her life, and you bring a second videographer to get full coverage of Callan.
  • Long-Form YouTube. You own the long-form YouTube edit and the short-form and stories cut from it, delivered to the Senior Social Content Strategist as ready-to-post content. Your job is to see the stories that match Callan inside of an entire day of content. One day of capture should produce 25 posts at minimum - visuals include B-roll, what Callan says, and storytelling in short and long form content.
  • Stills & Carousels. You turn screenshots and stills into carousel-ready visual assets that hold the premium standard across platforms.
  • Event Capture. You lead capture at live events, bringing the second camera and owning the footage that fuels the highest-trust content we produce.
The Traits We're Calling In

We hire humans, not checklists, but success here requires:

  • You have real videography and editing chops and a portfolio that shows a genuine storytelling eye.
  • You've directed talent on camera and know how to pull the best out of a founder without stiffening her up.
  • You see the little human moments others miss and know they're where trust gets built.
  • You hold a premium bar without being precious about speed, and you deliver on the capture-day rhythm.
  • You default to AI-first in your editing and post workflow and are hungry for room to grow.
What Success Looks Like

You own these key metrics:

  • Capture Cadence: Both monthly capture days run on schedule and produce enough raw material to feed the full content engine.
  • Long-Form Output: One to two long-form YouTube pieces ship per month, with short-form and stories cut and handed off.
  • Visual Standard: The brand's produced content consistently reads as premium and builds founder authority.
  • Handoff Reliability: The Senior Social Content Strategist receives ready-to-post assets on time, every cycle.
Launch Season Expectations

Our launch seasons are intentionally high-intensity and fast-paced to drive transformation for our clients and our team. Twice per year (10-12 weeks total), team members in launch-critical roles are expected to be available from 7 AM to 7 PM, with additional hours often required for preparation, execution, live event support, and post-launch debriefs.

This pace is not for everyone, and that's okay. We set this expectation clearly so that only those who thrive in high-accountability, high-impact environments choose to be here.

In return, you'll be part of a team that moves fast, solves real problems, and builds meaningful outcomes. You'll grow rapidly, work alongside exceptional talent, and contribute to work that truly matters. Outside launch seasons, workload is sustainable and strategic, focused on building the systems that make the next launch even stronger.

Base Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 (based on experience)

Bonus: Periodic bonus available based on company and individual performance, awarded at leadership's discretion.
Structure: Full Time

We Invest in Your Performance, Not Just Perks

  • Health & Wellness: Monthly wellness stipend + access to personalized and group wellness coaching to sustain high performance.
  • Professional Growth: $1,500 - $3,000 annual development budget for courses, conferences, certifications, and tools that sharpen your edge.
  • Work Your Way: Coworking membership allowance OR home office setup budget, you choose what maximizes your focus.
  • Unlimited PTO: Real flexibility with clear boundaries, we operate in championship seasons (launch intensity) and strategic recovery periods (sustainable pace).
  • Full Remote Setup: MacBook, external monitor, desk equipment, we equip you to do your best work.
  • True Downtime: Company-wide closure December 25 - January 1 so you can fully disconnect.

We're not trying to be Google. We're building a championship team that operates at the highest level during launch seasons and recovers like pros in between.

Applications are initially reviewed using AI-assisted screening tools to assess alignment with role requirements. All hiring decisions are made by humans.

The Uncommon Business is an equal opportunity employer. We believe diverse teams build better companies.
