Senior Producer, Video Production Center
USA TODAY’s national news video team is looking for a Senior Producer who can manage a world-class team of video producers and editors, overseeing daily news coverage and ensuring high-quality digital video content for USA TODAY and its network properties.
The Senior Video Producer will manage the afternoon/evening news video team, reporting to the Executive Producer of Digital Video on the USA TODAY Network Photo and Video Team. This position will work closely with USA TODAY’s large network of National reporters to coordinate the production and distribution of video content.
This Senior Producer will assign video production and live stream content to a team of video producers and editors and manage a production calendar for all incoming and outgoing videos.
The Senior Video Producer and its team of producers will work with the national and local video programming teams to help determine which videos to create on a daily and weekly basis pending the news cycle. They will be familiar with analytics platforms such as Parse.ly and Google Analytics as well as social platform analytics. They will track analytics daily and use metrics to inform production priorities.
This Senior Producer will be a leader of daily video needs, acting as the point person for the Video Production Center during their shift. This person will need to be able to prioritize quickly and effectively, delegate appropriately, and communicate between several different teams throughout the day.
This Senior Producer should have experience finding and pitching story ideas for a large-scale news media brand. This person should be able to not only spot potential video opportunities but also envision that video’s life cycle across Gannett O&Os, social platforms, partners, and OTT.
This candidate should also be capable of suggesting visually compelling ways to tell stories, have strong interviewing and writing skills, and be highly proficient in metadata writing as well as SEO considerations.
Our immediate need is for a Senior Producer on the afternoon/evening shift. However, this candidate should have the flexibility to work on all shifts and possibly weekends and occasional overtime as news events require.
Our preference is candidates who are near Los Angeles, Washington D.C., Atlanta, or New York City, but remote workers in all states except for Alaska and Hawaii will be considered.

The annualized base salary for this role will range between $90,000 and $131,531. Variable compensation is not reflected in these figures and based on the role, may be applicable. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, location, and union representation, if applicable.
