Job description

ZRG Partners is proud to partner with the American Cement Association in the search for a Senior Vice President, Research, Technology, and Outreach.

Reporting to the President & CEO, the Senior Vice President, Research, Technology, and Outreach will be a key member of ACA's leadership team, responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership for ACA's research, technology, standards development, and industry outreach activities. The SVP will hold a highly visible and influential role, both within ACA and across the broader cement and concrete industries, serving as a recognized industry leader and technical authority.

The SVP will lead a team of technical experts responsible for advancing research, developing resources, supporting standards development, and providing technical expertise and support to ACA's member companies and industry stakeholders. Working closely with the CEO and other senior leaders, the SVP will establish priorities, direct resources, and ensure that the team's work is aligned with ACA's strategic objectives and responsive to the evolving needs of its members and the industry.

Serving as a senior technical authority and industry leader, the SVP will represent ACA with member companies, research institutions, standards organizations, government agencies, and allied industry associations. The SVP will play an important role in advancing innovation, influencing technical standards and industry practices, and helping the cement and concrete industries respond to emerging technologies, regulatory developments, and opportunities related to sustainability and decarbonization.

This is an opportunity for an accomplished technical and organizational leader to help shape the future of an industry essential to the nation's infrastructure and economy. A critical priority during the SVP's first year will be ensuring that the department's priorities, activities, and resources are aligned with ACA's strategic plan and contribute meaningfully to advancing its objectives.

Founded in 1916, the American Cement Association (ACA) is the premier policy, research, technical, market intelligence, and advocacy organization serving America's cement manufacturers. ACA's 18 member companies operate 80 manufacturing plants in 30 states and account for approximately 92% of domestic cement production.

Headquartered in Washington, D.C., ACA is a nonprofit organization advancing policies that support U.S. infrastructure, industrial competitiveness, sustainability, and resilient construction. ACA is a central voice for the cement and concrete value chain and is a recognized leader in standards development, technical resources, educational programming, and environmental stewardship. ACA represents U.S. cement manufacturers in their efforts to advance the production and use of sustainable cement in resilient concrete in every aspect of America's growth.

This role requires a bachelor's degree in engineering, materials science, construction management, architecture, or a related technical field; and at least 15 years of progressive leadership experience within the cement, concrete, construction materials, or related industries. An advanced degree or professional licensure is preferred.

ACA will consider candidates with a broad range of backgrounds. If you are excited about this role and feel that you can contribute to ACA, but your experience does not exactly align with every qualification listed above, we encourage you to apply. All applications must be accompanied by a cover letter and résumé. Cover letters should be responsive to the mission of ACA and the responsibilities and qualifications specified in the position prospectus.

The salary range for this position is $250,000 to $280,000, with exact compensation dependent on relevant experience, qualifications, and skills, plus a performance-based bonus of up to 20% of base salary. Benefits include comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, life and disability insurance plans, an employee assistance program, a retirement plan with employer contributions, and generous paid time off. ACA sponsors an education assistance program and encourages qualifying employees to improve their skills and performance through its Tuition Assistance Program, in-house workshops, and training seminars.

While remote candidates will be considered, ACA has a strong preference for those residing within a reasonable commuting distance of its offices in Washington, D.C.

ACA is an Equal Opportunity Employer and welcomes diversity in its workforce and encourages all qualified applicants to apply. If you require reasonable accommodation in completing this application, interviewing, or participating in the selection process, please contact Marianna DiVietro at mariannadivietro@aspenleadershipgroup.com.
