Senior Vice President of EPC Engineering | Utility-Scale Solar & BESS

We are partnering with a leading national player in utility-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage systems (BESS) to secure an SVP of EPC Engineering.

Location

Houston, TX (100% On-Site - Relocation supported)

Compensation

$350,000-$400,00 Base + Executive Benefits Package

The Opportunity

This is an immediate, urgent hire.

This organization is currently transforming its operational approach, shifting away from a heavy self-perform structure toward a third-party project management model. To drive this, they require a heavy-hitting technical executive to join.

This is strictly an execution-focused role. We are not looking for a project developer or a pure consultant; we need a true builder who actively drives design, output, and team performance rather than just providing high-level macro engineering advice.

Serving as the ultimate technical authority for the EPC business, you will ensure that every project transitions seamlessly from engineering into procurement, field construction, and final commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

• Executive Leadership & Transformation: Define and execute the engineering strategy, steering the business through its transition to a third-party project management and affiliate-support model.
• Multidisciplinary Oversight: Lead, scale, and mentor an internal engineering organization. The leadership approach is completely discipline-agnostic; you will oversee civil, structural, electrical, and mechanical engineering teams.
• Constructability & Risk: Lead technical risk identification, rigorous value engineering, design optimization, and permitting assessments.
• Product Delivery & Client Interface: Take ultimate responsibility for delivering the engineering product consistently, working directly with customers to present options and value engineering solutions.
• Cross-Functional Execution: Partner aggressively with Project Management, Procurement, and Construction leadership. You must understand the supply chain, construction delivery, and how all components integrate to deliver projects on schedule and on budget.

The Non-Negotiables

• EPC Pedigree: You must have proven experience managing teams and delivering utility-scale projects directly for an EPC. Candidates whose experience is strictly on the developer or consultancy side will not be considered.
• Technical Authority: An active Professional Engineer (PE) license is required. While you must have deep technical competence, your specific engineering discipline (e.g., mechanical vs. electrical) is entirely agnostic.
• Project Scale: A proven track record of successfully delivering utility-scale Solar PV and/or BESS projects exceeding 100 MWDC.
• Location & Authorization: Must be willing to operate fully on-site in the Houston, TX office to centralize leadership, though relocation is available for the right candidate.
