The ASPCA Animal Hospital seeks a Medical Staff Floor Manager to lead a high-performing medical floor, delivering compassionate care from check-in to check-out. You will supervise 10–12 staff, implement Fear Free protocols, and collaborate with senior leadership to align operations with our mission.

This full-time, on-site role at our NYC location emphasizes strategic planning, staff development, and operational efficiency, with a schedule of Wednesday–Saturday 10am–8pm and weekend coverage as

Qualifications

Knowledge of basic veterinary terminology required.
Ability to fill the job requirements of a hospital vet assistant.
Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Power Point required.
Ability to plan, organize and effectively lead in a high-paced and fast-moving environment.
Must be flexible and tactful in all communications.
Must be self-confident, motivated and possess the ability to interact effectively with ASPCA employees, clients and the public.

Responsibilities

Build strong relationships, provide clear direction, and encourage development, including annual performance reviews.
Develop and implement policies to improve SOPs.
Provide coaching, mentorship, and on-the-floor feedback to drive performance.
Maintain staffing levels and oversee schedules to maximize productivity.
Assist the hospital floor with direct animal care at least 50% of the work week.
Oversee closing, ensure duties are completed before leaving.
