Job summary

Arizona Department of Veterans' Services (AZDVS) seeks a compassionate Senior Social Worker to enhance veterans’ quality of life. You will lead social services for the State Veteran Home, supervise staff, and ensure compliance with federal/state regulations as well as PASRR processes.

The role involves discharge planning, resident rights advocacy, and collaboration with families, staff, and external providers. A Master's in Social Work and an AZ license are required to apply.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work required.
• Active social work license issued by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners required.
• Minimum of 1 year supervisory experience in health care.
• Experience in long-term care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and supervise the social services program for the Arizona State Veteran Home.
• Ensure timely completion of assessments and documentation per regulations and policies.
• Oversee discharge planning and ensure safety and communication with stakeholders.
• Monitor budget and expenditures within department parameters.
• Maintain a personal caseload of assigned residents.
• Serve on committees and participate in meetings.
