Job summary

Walker Consultants is seeking a Senior Vertical Transportation Consultant to lead complex elevator, escalator, and moving walk projects nationwide. You will collaborate with architects, engineers, property managers, and building owners to deliver code‑compliant, efficient systems and impactful improvements.

You’ll mentor junior staff, manage budgets and schedules, prepare proposals, and oversee modernization and construction administration from planning through completion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Management, Engineering, or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in vertical transportation consulting.
• Proven track record managing multiple complex projects.
• Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
• Experience leading teams and coordinating with internal and external consultants.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from planning through completion, including budgets, schedules, staffing plans, and quality standards.
• Prepare proposals and agreements.
• Manage modernization projects and perform equipment surveys, bidding, submittal reviews, and construction administration.
• Conduct VT maintenance evaluations and acquisition surveys; present reports to clients.
• Oversee project schedules and ensure timely delivery of milestones.
• Perform quality and peer reviews.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior consultants.
• Participate in interviews and presentations for new business opportunities.
