Job summary

Amazon is hiring a Principal Vendor Strategy Manager to lead vendor strategy for fleet maintenance across Middle Mile and Last Mile assets. You will design multi-year vendor frameworks, manage contracts, and build analytical models to guide network investment decisions.

You will work with C-suite level vendor partners and internal teams to improve uptime, reduce cost, and raise performance while shaping the vendor ecosystem strategy at scale.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of vendor management experience and multi-year contract negotiations.
• Experience with data-driven decision making and P&L awareness.
• Proven ability to influence senior leaders and negotiate complex vendor arrangements.
• Experience owning end-to-end vendor strategy including selection, contracting, performance management, and exit planning.

Responsibilities

• Own vendor maintenance strategy, crafting contracts and negotiating strategies for cost-effective, high-performance outcomes.
• Maintain relationships with 3P vendors and actively scout new ones.
• Develop financial views around volumes, labor rates, service speed to drive cost.
• Audit contracts for quality of services and timeliness of deliveries.
• Set benchmarks, conduct cost analyses, and drive improvement initiatives.
• Mitigate capacity risks with diversified vendor networks and contingency plans.
• Collaborate with legal to ensure favorable terms and conditions.
• Influence budgets, track savings vs plan, and drive action plans.
• Communicate roadmap decisions to Directors/VPs and stakeholders.
