Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Principal Vendor Strategy Manager to own and drive vendor strategy for fleet maintenance across Middle Mile and Last Mile assets. You will define multi-year strategies, lead negotiations with diverse vendors, and build models informing network investments.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience preferred in vendor strategy, sourcing, or management.
• Bachelor's degree required; MBA a plus.
• Experience with multi-million dollar contracts and negotiation.
• Experience owning end-to-end vendor strategy including selection, contracting and performance management.
• Strong data analytics to influence business decisions and budgetary targets.

Responsibilities

• Own vendor maintenance strategy and contracting to drive cost-effective performance.
• Maintain relationships with 3P vendors and scout new ones.
• Develop financial views around volumes, labor rates, service speed and requirements.
• Create, evaluate and audit contracts to improve service quality and delivery timeliness.
• Conduct cost analyses and set improvement benchmarks.
• Develop risk management strategies across vendor networks.
• Influence senior leaders on roadmaps and data-driven decisions.
• Manage savings targets and implement action plans.
