Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking a Principal Vendor Strategy Manager to own vendor strategy for our fleet maintenance network supporting Middle Mile and Last Mile assets. You will define multi-year frameworks, contract structures, and performance mechanisms to influence uptime and cost across a wide vendor portfolio.

You will interact with VP-level stakeholders and C-suite vendors, lead complex negotiations, and build scalable analytic models that drive network-wide investment decisions while

Qualifications

• 7+ years Excel experience
• 7+ years account management, project or program management or buying experience
• Bachelor's degree, or 7+ years professional or military experience
• Knowledge of Microsoft Access or SQL
• Experience using data to influence business decisions
• Experience driving internal cross-team collaboration
• Experience with business analysis and P&L management
• 10+ years of vendor management experience
• 5+ years of multi-million dollar contract negotiation experience
• Experience owning end-to-end vendor strategy including selection, contracting, performance management, and exit planning

Responsibilities

• Own vendor maintenance strategy, developing contracts and negotiating strategy
• Maintaining relationships with 3P vendors while scouting for additional ones
• Develop internal and external financial views around volumes, labor rates, service speed and other requirements
• Creating, evaluating and auditing contracts to improve quality and timeliness of services
• Conducting cost analyses and setting benchmarks for improvement
• Develop risk management strategies to mitigate capacity shortages
• Work with legal to ensure favorable contracts and terms
• Build stakeholder relationships and influence spend decisions for high service levels
• Measure savings and drive action plans to meet goals
• Influence roadmaps and data-driven strategy decisions
• Set direction for vendors to demonstrate ownership and cost management
• Own savings targets and develop mechanisms to measure performance
