Job summary

Roush in Whittmann, AZ is seeking a Senior Vehicle Test Engineer to plan, execute, and document full-vehicle tests on track and real-world surfaces. You will support design and program engineers, ensure proper instrumentation, maintain data records, and analyze results to drive engineering decisions.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field and at least four years of automotive test experience, with strong knowledge of powertrain and chassis systems and proficiency in

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years of automotive design, development, or testing experience.
• Strong understanding of powertrain and chassis system principles.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and procedures.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Support test planning with Design and Program Engineers.
• Inspect vehicles to ensure proper instrumentation and readiness.
• Participate in daily monitoring and issue communication.
• Maintain high-quality database records of issues and resolutions.
• Support diagnosis by driving vehicles and consulting with Engineers.
• Provide repair direction to technicians with procedures and illustrations.
• Support implementation of new diagnostic, safety, or test equipment.
• Identify needs for test hardware or software upgrades.
• Maintain data analysis macros and programs.
• Compile test data, perform analysis, and provide conclusions to customers.

Education

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or equivalent
