Job summary

Roush in Whittmann, AZ seeks a Senior Vehicle Test Engineer to support full-vehicle testing on tracks and roads, focusing on durability, strength, fatigue, and customer usage. You will plan, execute, track, and document tests to ensure plans meet requirements and data is properly collected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Automotive Engineering, Automotive Engineering Technology, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 4 years of engineering experience in automotive systems design, development, or testing.
• Strong understanding of powertrain and chassis system principles.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and procedures.
• Knowledge of fluids, heat transfer, and electronics troubleshooting.
• Basic programming knowledge.
• Proficiency with Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Support test planning with Design and Program Engineers to ensure appropriate vehicle configuration and procedures.
• Inspect vehicles to ensure representative instrumentation and readiness for testing.
• Participate in daily monitoring and communicate issues promptly.
• Maintain high-quality database records of issues and resolutions.
• Assist with diagnosis of issues by driving vehicles and consulting engineers.
• Provide detailed repair directions to technicians with engineering procedures.
• Support implementation of new diagnostic, safety, or test equipment/methods.
• Identify needs for test hardware or software upgrades and support business case requests.
• Maintain data analysis macros and programs.
• Compile test data and perform analysis to provide conclusions to customers.
