Job summary

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is hiring a Vehicle Driver II to support the Food Service department at the Denton State Supported Living Center. This full-time role involves delivering food and supplies, coordinating routes, and performing routine vehicle maintenance.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school (or equivalent) preferred.
• Valid Texas driver’s license or ability to obtain within 90 days after hire.
• Experience operating motor vehicles with passengers or transporting cargo.
• Experience performing vehicle preventive maintenance checks.
• Experience receiving, storing and delivering food or supplies.

Responsibilities

• Operate vans, trucks, and delivery trailers to transport cargo in a safe, sanitary and timely manner.
• Determine delivery routes and coordinate tasks to ensure timely transport.
• Perform safety checks, basic maintenance, and keep records and logs of vehicle operations.
• Lead and train others as senior driver for food service.
