Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to own the vehicle access authentication stack, including Digital Key and Key Card flows, across ECUs and RTOS-based platforms. You will work with Bluetooth, UWB, NFC, and RF to deliver end-to-end vehicle access and functions on prototype and production vehicles.

The role requires strong Embedded C and Python, a track record in automotive embedded projects, and experience with CCC standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 8+ years of professional experience developing embedded software.
• Strong proficiency in Embedded C programming.
• Strong Python scripting and automation experience.
• Hands-on experience with complex embedded software projects (Vehicle Access, Digital Key, Key Card).
• Experience with CCC standards.
• Understanding of Bluetooth, UWB, NFC, RF communication and wireless architectures.
• Experience developing software for automotive ECUs and embedded real-time systems.
• Able to own a system end-to-end from architecture through post-launch with minimal supervision.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., VS Code Copilot) responsibly.

Responsibilities

• Own implementation of vehicle access authentication components such as transaction authorization, lock/unlock, start authorization, and remote functions.
• Architect and develop embedded software for Vehicle Access systems on ECUs and real-time platforms.
• Design and maintain Digital Key functionality per CCC standards alongside Key Card authentication flows.
• Develop software for vehicle access features using Bluetooth, UWB, NFC, and RF.
• Lead collaboration with systems, hardware, validation, cybersecurity, and mobile teams for end-to-end solutions.
• Write and enhance embedded software in C; use Python for automation, testing, and validation.
• Define software architecture, interfaces, and communication frameworks between vehicle systems and credentials.
• Support vehicle integration, debugging, and bring-up on prototypes and production vehicles.
• Diagnose complex software, connectivity, and RF issues across vehicle and mobile ecosystems.
• Utilize AI coding assistants to accelerate coding and testing with safety checks.
