The SVMI-TRAQ position is suited for experienced forestry professionals with backgrounds in forestry, horticulture, arboriculture, environmental studies, conservation, or related fields. The role involves supporting vegetation management inspections, audits, and contractor performance, and coordinating activities of tree clearance crews. Acts as a liaison between clients, crews, and customers.

Compensation & Benefits
Hourly wage: $48.53, with potential sign-on and retention incentives totaling $3000.00. Lodging assistance is provided for out-of-state or distant applicants, covering hotel stays during the project.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate vegetation inspection activities, ensuring safety, compliance, and efficiency.
- Act as the primary contact for new and re-construction work requests.
- Promote safety and ensure compliance with all safety standards and regulations.
- Audit work and assist in training VM Inspectors.
- Maintain relationships with public agencies and contractors, managing escalated issues and customer complaints.
- Patrol circuits, prescribe work, and determine necessary tree trimming or removal to maintain clearance standards.
- Ensure all work complies with PG&E standards, permits, and safety requirements.
- Utilize software tools such as PG&E’s VMDSRs, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for data management and reporting.
- Support emergency response, outage investigations, and fire incident investigations as needed.
Equipment & Environmental Conditions
- Operate vehicles and forestry equipment, walk on uneven terrain, and work in various weather conditions.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Valid Class C driver’s license
- Active TRAQ and ISA Arborist Certifications
- Residence within 50 miles of Chico, CA
- Minimum experience requirements vary from 4 to 5 years in relevant roles, including tree climbing, vegetation inspection, forestry, or military service with vegetation management experience.

- Experience with data collection and GIS software preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to work in rugged terrain and inclement weather, with flexible hours including nights and weekends
- Strong work ethic, accountability, and ability to work independently and as part of a team
Training & Supervisor Responsibilities
- Complete OSHA 30-hour safety training, CTSP or CA certification, and other specified training within designated timeframes.
- Support and oversee work groups, ensuring safety, compliance, and progress.
