Job summary

Southern California Edison in Santa Monica, CA is seeking a Vegetation Management & Forestry, Senior Specialist to advance our utility vegetation program. You will engage with customers, contractors and agencies to ensure safe, effective line clearance and regulatory compliance.

The role focuses on field safety, environmental stewardship, program leadership, and collaboration with stakeholders to reduce wildfire risk while delivering reliable service.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of experience in vegetation management.
• ISA Certified Arborist
• Possess a valid Class C Driver's License.
• ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) (preferred).
• ISA Utility Specialist certification (preferred).
• Bachelor's degree in forestry, arboriculture, or business (preferred).
• Effective communication skills and customer service.
• 8 years managing a Utility Vegetation Management program (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Performs contractor field safety observations and enforces COAs; sets KPI's and monitoring goals for programs.
• Performs contractor environmental observations and ensures site-specific environmental requirements.
• Leads contractor calibration sessions to review expectations and wildfire risk priorities.
• Performs Post Work Verification and assigns rework when quality is not met.
• Provides input to annual work plans and coordinates with RPPM for scheduling.
• Investigates tree-related outages and communicates results to supervision.
• Serves as SME on vegetation management programs and regulatory interfaces.
• Monitors costs and approves contractor safety and billing documentation.
