Job summary

D2 Consulting seeks a VDI Engineer to design, implement, and maintain a large, globally accessed virtual desktop environment in Springfield, VA or Arnold, MO. The role requires high-level troubleshooting, strong communication, and a proactive approach to operations excellence.

Active TS/SCI with Polygraph is required; sponsorship available for polygraph. Extensive Citrix VDI expertise and experience with PVS, MCS, CVAD, Netscaler, and Liquidware are highly desired.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph required, can sponsor for polygraph.
• 5+ years of VDI engineering experience with BS degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience designing and maintaining VDI in large enterprise environments.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot performance issues across multiple production environments.

Responsibilities

• Architect and design VDI solutions; provide Tier 3/4 support to system administrators.
• Guide optimization of desktops for platform interoperability; liaison between VDI technologies.
• Provide endpoint support and issue resolution for VDI tasks.
• Maintain advanced knowledge of administration, engineering, and implementation of VDI technologies.

ACTIVE TS/SCI SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED

As a VDI Engineer you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our work depends on a TS/SCI cleared VDI Engineer joining our team to support our intelligence customer in Springfield, VA or Arnold, MO.

HOW A VDI ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Virtual Desktop Engineer to support the design, configuration, and maintenance of a large, globally accessed virtual desktop environment. This role will be the SME in troubleshooting all related performance issue across the organization. Additionally, the position will require an individual experienced in system design and integration, identity life-cycle management, and process automation and improvement.

We are looking for an individual who has a proven track record designing and maintaining VDI in a large enterprise. The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills, who exceeds as an individual, as well as excels among peers in a team environment. The individual should possess a passion for operational excellence and a high level of interpersonal and soft skills.
Job Duties include but are not limited to:

1. In addition to architecting and designing, the VDI Engineer will provide TIER 3/4 support to system administrators in order to resolve VDI issues.
2. Provide guidance on optimization of desktops for platform interoperability and act as liaison between Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) technologies.
3. Offers endpoint support on issues and trouble resolution tasks on Virtual Desktop related tasks.
4. Maintains an Advanced knowledge relative to administration, engineering, and implementation of virtual desktop infrastructure-related technologies.
5. Operate across multiple and complex production environments with multiple stakeholders.
6. Applies extensive technical expertise and has full knowledge of other related disciplines.
7. Conducts trade studies and makes recommendations on solutions and "make buy" decisions.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph. Can sponsor for a polygraph.
• Experience providing engineering support for legacy and current versions of Citrix products.
• 5+ years of experience with BS degree or a combination of years of experience and education
• Progressive roles from Administrator to Sr. Engineer
• Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops v7.15 and later
• Citrix Provisioning Services (PVS) and Machine Creation Services (MCS)
• Citrix Cloud Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD)
• Citrix Netscaler / ADC / VPX
• Citrix Workspace Environment Management (WEM)
• Citrix App Layering
• Liquidware Profile Unity
• Hyper V, VMWare VDI (Microsoft or Citrix NetScalers / ADCs)
• Familiar with HP AnyConnect and Leostream

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience managing and administering Windows Server clustering
• Experience with Infrastructure as code technologies such as Terraform, Ansible, etc.
• System Center Virtual Machine Manager/Vmware Vcenter 6.7
• Active Directory/ Group Policies
• Home Directory and Profile management Support Services
• Desktop Software provisioning and Support Services
