Job summary

D2 Tech Services seeks a Citrix Software Virtualization Engineer with a TS/SCI clearance to support our intelligence customer in Arnold, MO or Springfield, VA. You will lead virtualization packaging, sequencing, and delivery across VDI environments, ensuring secure, high-performance access to mission-critical apps.

Responsibilities include developing virtualized packages, validating apps with testers, automating sequencing tasks, and maintaining documentation and configs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in IT/IS with 5+ years in systems administration/virtualization.
• 01M Level II certification.
• 3+ years with VDI technologies (VMware Horizon, Citrix Virtual Apps/Desktops, or RDS).
• 2+ years with Citrix XenApp or comparable tech (App-V, FlexApp, App Volumes).
• Proficient with Windows Desktop/Server OS (10/11, 12+).
• Scripting/automation experience (PowerShell).
• Experience with non-persistent desktops and profile management (DEM, Profile-Unity).
• Active Directory and Group Policy knowledge.
• Understanding of ITIL and load balancing for app delivery.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with testers and SMEs to validate mission apps.
• Update app sequencing processes and persist user settings in non-persistent VDIs.

• Improve backup, DR, and continuity processes.
• Produce design docs, test plans, and training guides within project deadlines.
• Engage in VMware SDCC tools for troubleshooting and tuning.
• Test patches and updates and manage incidents and requests.

Citrix Software Virtualization Engineer Springfield, VA **ACTIVE TS/SCI SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED**

Our work depends on a TS/SCI cleared Citrix Software Virtualization Engineer joining our team to support our intelligence customer in Arnold, MO or Springfield, VA.

Responsibilities:

• Development of Virtualized packages for mission baseline applications
• Applications will be consumed both by VDI sessions and thick clients
• Applications include those with plugins and advanced graphics requirements
• Work with application testers and mission SME’s to validate mission application behavior
• Incorporate any required sequencing changes into the app sequencing process
• Identify facets of user application settings (registry, AppData, etc) that need to be persisted across sessions in a non-persistent VDI environment
• Identify automation opportunities for application sequencing and work with the engineering team to streamline the sequencing process for mission applications once established
• Assist the virtualization team and VDI team with application delivery infrastructure configuration as needed
• Improve backup/Disaster Recovery and Continuity of Operations
• Articulate knowledge, discoveries, designs, etc rapidly and concisely in written detailed designs, test plans and test cases, implementation plans, operational guides, and training guides under project management time and cost-constrained deadlines
• Perform work without appreciable direction and exercise considerable latitude in the determination of technical objectives of assignments
• Work with VMware software defined data center products and tools for troubleshooting and performance tuning
• Analyze, test, and apply regular security patches and software update as required
• Incident resolution and fulfillment of software requests
• Create and maintain technical documentation and provide training to team members
• Performs all other work as assigned What you’ll need to succeed Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience with Systems Administration/Virtualization (additional education, training, certifications, or work experience can be substituted in lieu of degree)
• 01M Level II certification
• 3+ years of experience with VDI technologies, including VMware Horizon, Citrix Virtual Apps and desktops, or Microsoft Remote Desktop Services
• 2+ years of experience with Citrix XenApp or comparable application virtualization technology (Microsoft App-V, FlexApp, App Volumes, etc)
• In-depth and up-to-date knowledge of virtualization products and capabilities
• Ability to analyze and apply virtualization product capabilities to changing program requirements
• Good work ethic and active desire to learn
• Skillful time management and organizational skills to set and meet deadlines
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Experience with Windows Desktop (10/11) and Server (12+) Operating systems
• Utilizing scripting and automation tools (e.g. Powershell) to automate tasks and manage deployments
• Experience with non-persistent desktop environments
• Experience with profile management solutions such as VMware DEM or Liquidware Labs’ Profile-Unity
• Familiarity with Active Directory, specifically Group Policy
• Understanding of load-balancing application delivery services
• Understanding of ITIL principles
• Able to create architectural design documents and presentations
• Able to test and apply hardware and software updates
• Understand architectural frameworks such as TOGAF
• Virtualization computer environment certification (i.e. VMware Certified Associate for Data Center Virtualization, VCA-DCV)
• Familiarity with ticketing systems (Service+, ServiceNow, Remedy, etc.) Travel
• There will be occasional trips to the customer site in Arnold, MO Additional Information

• Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. The salary range for this position is typically $140-150k. This does not guarantee a specific salary as compensation is based upon multiple factors such as education, experience, certifications, and other requirements, and may fall outside of the above-stated range.
