Job summary

Strategic Business Systems, Inc. (SBS) seeks a Senior VDI/Cloud Systems Administrator to sustain and optimize enterprise VDI and cloud environments with a focus on security, reliability, and performance.

The role requires hands-on Windows server and virtualization expertise, strong problem-solving abilities, and the ability to collaborate with infrastructure, networking, and cybersecurity teams. Active TS/SCI clearance is required.

Qualifications

7+ years of professional systems administration experience with 4+ years in enterprise VDI/virtualization or related infrastructure.
Hands-on experience with VDI/virtualization platforms (VMware Horizon, Citrix, AVD) in enterprise environments.
Strong Windows Server and enterprise systems administration experience.
Working knowledge of Active Directory, GPO, DNS, DHCP, authentication services, and enterprise networking.
Experience troubleshooting VMs, OS, apps, connectivity, authentication, and performance issues.
Familiarity with cloud infrastructure services (compute, storage, networking, identity, monitoring).
Experience with enterprise monitoring, management, and troubleshooting tools.
Ability to analyze logs, alerts, and performance metrics to identify and resolve problems.
Experience with patching, maintenance, configuration management, and change procedures.
Understanding of vulnerability remediation and cybersecurity compliance requirements.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently while coordinating with multiple technical teams.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.

Responsibilities

Perform daily O&M for enterprise VDI, virtualization, and cloud infrastructure.
Monitor system availability, performance, capacity, and health; proactively address issues.
Troubleshoot complex issues across VDI, VMs, OS, applications, and networks.
Administer and maintain VDI environments: desktops, pools, users, profiles, images, apps.
Provision, configure, and decommission VMs and infrastructure resources.
Conduct routine patching, maintenance, and configuration changes.
Support Windows-based enterprise environments (AD, GPO, DNS, DHCP, auth).
Analyze logs and performance metrics to diagnose issues.
Monitor resource utilization and propose performance improvements.
Support incident management, problem resolution, and service requests.
Coordinate with Networking, Cybersecurity, Storage, and Service Desk teams.
Assist with vulnerability remediation and infrastructure hardening.
Post-maintenance validation and testing for service continuity.
Maintain technical documentation and SOPs.
Identify recurring issues and recommend reliability improvements.
Provide knowledge transfer to other staff as needed.
Participate in scheduled maintenance and operational support.
