Job summary

Carnegie Search seeks an experienced VDC professional to assist with 3D models for mechanical piping, sheet metal, and HVAC systems on large industrial projects. You will collaborate with engineers and designers to ensure accurate integration within the building model.

Responsibilities include producing spool and installation drawings, validating model accuracy, and supporting field teams throughout the lifecycle. Remote role with occasional travel to Charlotte, Nashville or St. Louis if onsite.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with Mechanical Pipe design, Sheet Metal, VDC, or Fabrication.
• Extensive experience with Revit and proficiency in AutoCAD, BIM360, Microsoft Teams, and Planner.
• Associate degree in CAD Drafting, engineering management, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Generate deliverables such as spool drawings, installation drawings, and hanger maps.
• Develop hanger and fabrication plans for steel layouts.
• Support field and shop through the project lifecycle.
• Review modeling and design work for accuracy and adherence to specs.

Job description

Our client is looking for experienced VDC professionals to join their growing. Candidates with Piping, Sheet Metal, and / or Mechanical System Design are encouraged to apply. Applicants must have experience using Revit. The company is a Design-Build contractor that focuses on large Industrial and Commercial projects.

This position will assist in the creation, management, and coordination of 3D models and drawings for mechanical piping, sheet metal, and HVAC systems. Responsibilities include Collaborating with engineers, designers, and other team members to ensure accurate and efficient integration of piping systems within the overall building model.

This position will sit remote unless located in Charlotte, Nashville or St. Louis.

Responsibilities

• Generating deliverables such as spool drawings/maps, installation drawings, and hanger maps.


• Developing hanger and supplemental steel layout and fabrication plans.


• Supporting the field and shop through the project lifecycle.


• Reviewing and ensuring the accuracy of modeling and design work, adhering to project specifications and standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with Mechanical Pipe design, Sheet Metal, VDC, or Fabrication


• Extensive experience with Revit. Proficient in AutoCAD, BIM360, Microsoft Teams, and Planner. Overall strong computer skills are expected.


• An associate’s degree in applied science and/or equivalent relevant experience in CAD Drafting, engineering, construction management, or a similar field is preferred.
