Job summary

Continental Electrical Construction Company seeks a Senior VDC Modeler to support the Design Lead and Electrical Systems Designer by applying BIM manager standards and workflows for electrical commercial construction projects.

You will design electrical layouts, create and place annotations, manage sheets and revisions, plotting, and export views and sheets, while coordinating with field and other trades as part of the BIM process.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial electrical construction and designing electrical systems with AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• Ability to independently design electrical room layouts and understand project schedules, electrical risers, and system layouts.
• General construction knowledge, ability to read manufacturer’s shop drawings and equipment cut sheets.
• Willingness to travel 15% to local job sites.

Responsibilities

• Layout of Electrical Systems: create electrical room layouts and homerun schedules; review drawings; design large conduits and raceways.
• Create shop drawings: set up detailed shop drawings for prefabrication and field installation; produce and manage record drawings; reflect as-built conditions.
• Coordinate BIM processes: participate in coordination meetings and document changes; communicate with team members.
• Model in AutoCAD or Revit according to job specifications; update models with coordination changes.
