Job summary

Strategic Mission Critical in Phoenix, AZ seeks a hands-on Senior VDC Associate to lead Revit-based MEP modeling, drive clash detection, and mentor junior designers. The role blends production with coordination leadership on mission-critical data center projects in a collaborative setting.

You’ll manage multiple projects, coordinate with internal teams and clients, and push for model quality and constructibility while maintaining schedule adherence.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years in VDC, BIM, or related modeling roles.
  • Advanced Revit experience, daily production.
  • Experience with Navisworks for clash detection and coordination.
  • Proven experience leading coordination efforts and resolving conflicts.
  • Experience collaborating with multiple linked models.

Responsibilities

  • Produce and oversee 3D models and shop drawings for MEP systems using Revit.
  • Lead coordination across projects, including clash detection workflows and resolution.
  • Facilitate coordination/clash meetings with internal teams, contractors, and clients.
  • Translate design drawings into constructible, field-ready models.
  • Mentor junior VDC designers on modeling standards and workflows.
  • Identify RFIs and drive resolution across stakeholders.
  • Ensure deliverables are accurate and align with requirements and deadlines.
  • Collaborate with external design teams, contractors, and clients to resolve complex challenges.
  • Maintain awareness of client expectations and construction workflows to improve model quality.

We’re looking for a hands-on Senior VDC Associatewho brings both strong production capabilities and leadership presence. This role is ideal for someone who is highly proficient in Revit-based MEP modeling coordination and is ready to take ownership of complex projects while mentoring others.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll be actively involved in modeling and production while also leading coordination workflows, driving clash detection efforts, and supporting the development of junior team members.

Responsibilities:
  • UtilizeAutodesk Revitto produce and oversee 3D models and shop drawings for MEP systems
  • Lead coordination efforts across projects, includingclash detection workflows and resolution
  • Facilitate and lead coordination/clash meetingswith internal teams, contractors, and clients

Qualifications:
  • 7+ yearsof experience in VDC, BIM, or related modeling roles
  • Advanced, hands-on Revit experience(daily production required)
  • Experience with Navisworks for clash detection and coordination
  • Proven experienceleading coordination effortsand resolving multi-discipline conflicts
  • Experience working incollaborative environments with multiple linked models
  • Ability to read andinterpret MEP design drawingsand apply design intent
  • Strongproblem-solving skillsand attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Strong communication skills, including experienceinteracting with external partners and clients
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working onmission critical projects(data centers preferred)
  • Strong electrical background
  • Autodesk Revit certification(e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional: Revit) preferred
  • Background in consulting engineering or design environments
Compensation
  • $90,000 - $110,000 + / year
    • Depending on experience, education, skills, and/or location
