Job summary

Highspring is seeking an experienced Accounting Advisory professional to join the Valuation Sub-Group in McLean, VA. You will work with Fortune 100 brands and mid-market clients on business valuations, financial reporting, and related advisory services.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in professional services valuation, a degree in Accounting/Finance, and progress toward CFA/CPA/ASA. Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, plus travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of professional services experience including business valuations.
• CFA, CPA, ASA (or progress towards these certifications).
• Demonstrated knowledge of financial theory and general accounting issues.
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Flexibility to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Assist fast-growing companies and well-known enterprises with valuation projects for mergers, acquisitions, financial reporting, tax planning, and strategic planning.
• Engage with clients and colleagues on valuations for business combinations, intangibles, goodwill impairment, and private equity reporting.
• Apply standard valuation methodologies including DCF, guidelines for publicly traded companies, and guideline transactions.
• Review progress to ensure compliance with valuation best practices and professional standards.
• Educate internal and external audiences on valuation conclusions.
• Establish credibility as a trusted advisor and manage client relationships with a focus on new business opportunities.
• Participate in career development activities and technical training of staff.
