Job description

Minimum qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  2. 6 years of experience in UX writing, content design, technical writing, writing, editorial, marketing, or related fields, as well as leading content strategy projects.
  3. Experience on UX-focused product writing and shaping content for multi-disciplinary projects.

Preferred qualifications:
  1. Experience leading large-scale content strategy initiatives or developing content systems for product ecosystems.
  2. Experience with administration tools, security strategies, or enterprise SaaS platforms.
  3. Experience in influencing product design based on data-driven research, best practices, and UX principles.
  4. Experience developing information architecture for documentation sets or product suites, including localization and accessibility best practices.
  5. Familiarity with user experience research principles and practices and how to use data to provide informed user insights.
Role overview:

As a UX writer, you are an advocate for Google design, shaping product experiences by creating useful, meaningful text that helps users complete tasks. You help set the goal for content and drive cohesive product narratives across multiple platforms and touch points. Your portfolio demonstrates content that simplifies and beautifies the user experience. You collaborate with researchers, product managers, engineers, marketing, and customer operations to establish cohesive language and a unified voice. You use empathy, logic, and data to inform content choices and recommendations.

As a Senior UX Writer and Content Designer, you will partner with UX Designers and Researchers to create impactful user experiences across Google Workspace, focusing on admin initiatives within security, privacy, and compliance. You will craft scalable content frameworks, support content projects, and clarify product needs to deliver intuitive experiences that simplify administrative tasks and communicate value globally.

Compensation:

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $138,000-$202,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Salary ranges are role, level, and location-dependent. Key responsibilities:
  1. Lead content strategy and development for critical security user journeys, creating clear, concise UI content.
  2. Collaborate with peer writers to develop and refine scalable content systems, guidelines, and best practices for Workspace privacy, security, and compliance touchpoints.
  3. Develop deep user understanding through research and testing.
  4. Partner with designers, researchers, legal, marketing, product managers, and engineers to ensure seamless content integration.
  5. Influence product strategy with insights, data-driven recommendations, and proactive content improvements.
